Fall Fraternity Recruitment

So what exactly is Fraternity Recruitment? Recruitment, or Rush for slang, is the period of attracting and inviting New Members to become part of a Fraternity. Different campuses hold Recruitment in different ways. The Interfraternity Council at NC State practices a Formalized Informal Recruitment system for Fraternities in the Fall.

Formalized Recruitment

Formalized Recruitment, or Formalized Informal Recruitment, is the Recruitment system for IFC in the Fall. What Formalized Recruitment means is the governing council of NC State's Fraternities the Interfraternity Council (IFC) holds 3 days of Council Recruitment where all 20 IFC Fraternities are present for prospective New Members to check out. IFC gives prospective members a taste of general Fraternity Life during Formalized Recruitment. Following IFC's 3 days of Council Recruitment each individual IFC Fraternity holds up to 2 weeks of individual Fraternity Recruitment. During individual Fraternity Recruitment you are free to approach any Fraternity and any Fraternity is free to approach you; reference the Rush 101 Hand Guide for more info on individual Fraternity Recruitment.
