Service & Philanthropy

Service and Philanthropy are two values that are at the cornerstone of the Interfraternity Council. Benefiting the greater good is an ideal that the Interfraternity Council and all IFC Fraternities believe in and practice year round. IFC commits itself to service events and philanthropic causes on campus, in the community, and to humanitarian causes around the world. Most IFC chapters have adopted specific charitable organizations that they dedicate their entrie service and philanthropy events around in addition to supporting other Greek, campus, and community charity events. The Interfraternity Council and all the IFC Fraternities compile more service hours and donate more money and goods for charity than any other student organization on campus. More importantly countless lives are yearly benefited and saved by the steadfast endeavors of the Interfraternity Council. IFC believes that our organizations and members bvenefit as much as the chariites we work to help. It is that belief that puts the Interfraternity Council in the business of serving others and promoting the more significant ideals in life, because through that we believe that we are building better men.

The Interfraternity Council and all the recognized IFC Fraternities also serve the NC State campus and surrounding community through numerous educational and social programs. Some programs are devoted to solely enriching specific Fraternity members while a majority of the educational programs IFC puts on are open to the entire public free of cost. These programs are extremely diverse ranging from the history of the plasma TV to classes on social etiquette. Although a strong percentage of IFC programs focus on leadership development IFC holds many casual programs to supplement the scholarly programs found on campus and liven up the at times mundane student lifestyle. The Interfraternity Council strongly believes that by enriching the knowledge, capabilities, and lifestyle of our members, fellow students, and the greater community we make NC State and the Raleigh area a much more enjoyable and better place.
